AARON CERRONE
OWNER / INSTRUCTOR |
Aaron has been training in the martial arts since the age of 11. His studies began in karate under Sensei Tim Hoover, since then he has trained in the arts of Aikido, Kali, Silat, Boxing, Thai-style Kickboxing, Submission Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, JKD Concepts and Jun Fan Gung Fu. Aaron holds instructorships under Sifu Marc McFann in Unified Fighting Arts, Sensei Erik Paulson in Combat Submission Wrestling and Sifu John Cammarata in Progressive Fighting Arts. |
| Aaron has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, a Diploma in Fitness and Nutrition from the International Correspondance School, and a Master of Human Relations Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Aaron is an accomplished freelance writer having been published in Black Belt Magazine. Aaron remains active in the Air Force Reserves as well. | |
 ED SHOBE JIU JITSU INSTRUCTOR Ed is a successful competitor in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu having competed at the national and international levels. Ed was a member of the U.S. National Muay Thai team earning a spot to compete in the Prince's Cup. He is also a Brown Belt in BJJ under Rodrigo Vaghi. Ed is owner of Viking Vending here in Omaha and works extensively with Children's Square. |
 JOE BAUDLER MMA INSTRUCTOR An original member and black belt of the Tai Jitsu Academy, Joe has been part of the martial arts community in Omaha for the past two decades training many professional and amateur fighters as well as law enforcement. Joe is a police officer in the city of Omaha. |
 KURT PODANY KICKBOXING INSTRUCTOR Kurt has been a regular on the kickboxing circuits for the past 2 decades. He has fought around the world and became the first U.S. fighter to ever medal (gold) at an international Muay Thai event at the prestigious Prince's Cup. Kurt also reigned as the IKF Pro MuayThai Rules Cruiserweight & Light Cruiserweight United States Champion while holding a Top 15 World Ranking. Kurt is a certified IKF official.

 SCOTT MORTON JIU JITSU INSTRUCTOR Scott has been training in martial arts for over 10 years. He is a certified purple belt in BJJ under Rodrigo Vaghi and has trained with the likes of Pat Miletich and Jeremy Horn. Scott has competed on national level to include the Pan Am Games. Scott is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He has a Masters of Science degree from UNO in Computer Science. |
 JEFF OGG YOUTH INSTRUCTOR Jeff has been with Mid-America for almost 4 years. He regularly assists with the youth classes while continuing his training in Kickboixng, Kali, Jun Fan Gung Fu and JKD Concepts. He is an instructor candidate under Sifu Marc McFann. Growing up Jeff took part if both judo and wrestling. Born and raised in Omaha, Jeff is a graduate of South High and currently works for Packers Engineering and Equipment. |
 JERAD BERRY YOUTH INSTRUCTOR Jerad has been training in martial arts for over 10 years. He is a regular at our jiu jitsu and submission wrestling classes while assisting with our youth program. Jerad is a loan counselor with Premier Mortgage. |
 JARED ROBERTS JKD/KALI INSTRUCTOR
Jared has been training in the martial arts for roughly 6 years. He has studied the arts of Kali, JKD Concepts, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Submission Wrestling and Thai-style Kickboxing. Jared is an instructor candidate under Sifu Marc McFann in Unified Fighting Arts. Jared attended the University of Nebraska in Kearney where he studied business administration. He is currently the president of Roberts Sales Inc.  JAMES PAYNE
JKD/KALI INSTRUCTOR James has been training in the martial arts for over 20 years. He holds black belts rankings in Tae Kwon Do (ATA) as well as one under Sifu Norris Domangue. James has also studied in the arts of Shotokan, Submission Wrestling, Kali, Silat, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Pekiti Tersia, JKD Concepts, and Thai-style Kickboxing. James is an Apprentice Instructor under Sifu Marc McFann in Unified Fighting Arts.
James is a retired Air Force veteran. He is currently a senior system administrator for Lockheed-Martin. | |

BOXING INSTRUCTOR Virgil has been on the professional and amateur boxing scene for over 3 decades. He has trained athletes to victories at all levels of boxing.

MARC MCFANN Marc McFann is an internationally recognized expert with more than 30 years of martial arts experience. He is a certified Full Instructor in Filipino and Jun Fan/JKD martial arts under Guro Dan Inosanto. He is also an instructor in Thai Boxing under Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Mande Muda Silat under Pendekar Herman Suwanda, and a Full Instructor under Sifu Larry Hartsell. Marc holds black belts rankings in Okinawan Kempo, Judo and Hapkido. Marc's proficiency in all ranges of combat, together with his unique ability to blend various martial arts into a combative whole, have identified him as one of the most sought after instructors in the world.

ERIK PAULSON
For the last twenty-two years, Erik Paulson has studied the art of grappling while having gained worldwide fame competing in many pay-per-viewand NHB events. He is currently undefeated in Japan and the World Light-Heavyweight Shootwrestling Champion. Erik has spent the last decade training with the likes of the Machado Brothers, Rickson Gracie, Larry Hartsell, Yorinago Nakamura, Gene LeBell, and Dan Inosanto. Erik has developed a system of grappling (Combat Submission Wrestling) blending Judo, Freestyle Wrestling, and Greco-Roman Wrestling with techniques and submissions from Shooto, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Sambo and Catchascatchcan. He is recognized as a virtual encyclopedia of leg submissions.

 RODRIGO VAGHI Rodrigo started his Jiu-Jitsu at the age of l4, in the original Gracie Academy in Rio de Janeiro. Vaghi's instructors were Grandmaster Helio Gracie and his sons: Rickson, Royce, Royler and Rolker. He was also an instructor at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Brazil.
